“Over the past two decades – Asian American graphic novelists and illustrators have inundated the comics literary scene. This talk presents a diverse selection of graphic narratives spanning the realms of history – cultural experience – and imaginative creations from Asian American talents – exploring dark humor and magical realism to heartfelt memoirs and realistic fiction for all ages.

Our presenter is Jerry Dear – an Information Strategist at the San Francisco Public Library who tackles research questions and teaches at City College of San Francisco. In his free time – Jerry indulges in graphic novels – anime – manga – and Asian American literature and film.”
