Asian Pacific American Heritage Month events are happening throughout San Francisco in the month of May. This Master Calendar of events is  compiled by the APA Heritage Foundation, in partnership with the Mayor’s APA Heritage Celebration Committee and the Official Celebration Partners of the 40th Anniversary:

Kumihimo Cord Braiding with Esther Kwan

Free

A fun type of braiding using a small hand-held round and yarn that makes a fancy cord of diagonal and slanted strip patterns. Finished cords can be used as a key holder, zipper pull, bracelet, or necklace! Young children should be assisted by an older sibling or adult. Each family takes home one 5″ diameter foam “loom.” Materials provided. For teens, ages 8 and older. Limited to 12 participants.
