Classical Chinese Culture: A Brief Introduction

Join us for a special presentation and discussion about Confucianism and Taoism in the original, as well as the Heroic Tradition. The presentation will examine how the central themes and narratives from these traditions have been expressed, altered and suppressed in everyday life, relationships, social structures, customs, rituals, folklore, and perspectives on right livelihood, etc.

About the presenter: Benjamin R. Tong, PhD, is Professor Emeritus, Clinical Psychology PsyD Program at California Institute of Integral Studies. Emeritus faculty, Asian American Studies Department, San Francisco State University. Existential psychotherapist and psychoanalyst, organizational consultant, writer, reviewer, critic, raconteur, singer, theater director, Classical Yang Tai Chi Chuan and qigong instructor.
