About
May is Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. This Cultural Procession is part of the APA Heritage Awards Ceremony and takes place at the Herbst Theatre. It brings together representatives from diverse AAPI communities in a choreographed song and dance that highlights
colorful and unique ethnic attire.
Event Details
- Time: 5:30 p.m.
- Location: Herbst Theatre, 401 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco
- Participants: 2–6 representatives from each AAPI community
- Format:
- Each group will walk onstage, present their traditional attire, and perform a brief choreographed gesture (e.g., bow or wave)
- The program concludes with all participants coming together onstage for a joyful, shared finale dance.
Participation Requirements
- Sunday, May 3, 2026: Mandatory rehearsal, 2:00–4:00 p.m. (Location TBD)
- Wednesday, May 6, 2026: Mandatory final rehearsal at approximately 4:00 p.m. at the Herbst Theatre
